A Fresh Start

We have been very busy with getting everything ready for a domestic adoption. While we were completely heart broken over losing our referral of Jung we know deep down there is a little girl for our family. We have decided to adoption within the United States, rather than International. As we all know there are risk in any adoption, but at this point in time we would like to only work with one government rather than two.

This past week a lot has happened with the new adoption. We completed our update of our home study, the agency received are profile, and we submitted are final FBI clearances. The great news of the week was we made a mistake with our FBI forms and the nice lady called me and I corrected it that day. She told me she was going to go ahead and process them rather than waiting up to 60 days. Anyways, we should have those back within 7-10 day!

Our goal is to be active by mid November and we believe that is very achievable. The average wait is 1-9 months but since we are gender specific it could be a little longer.

The hardest thing to get use to with a domestic adoption is we will bring home an infant... a new born. Not quite what we imagined when we started our journey, but as time goes by the thought of having a baby in the house again is exciting.

What we do know, we are changing the bedroom. We have not decided if we will keep the name Laila or not, right now it is hard to even say the name.
