2nd Post Placement
We had our second post placement visit this morning with our social worker. Everything went very well and she couldn't believe how big Elle had gotten in two months. Today's meeting lasted about an hour and she asked simple questions like" How is everybody adjusting? How do the kids act around and towards her? What are her eating habits? Sleep patterns? Is she doing this and that? Who does she respond to more? Does she respond to her brothers? How is she doing at daycare? Homeday care or center? When we were all done with the 20 questions, we visited for a little bit while she held and cuddled with Elle. I did ask if the parental rights for her birthparent's had been terminated. I knew Elle's birthmom couldn't change her mind, her 10 days already past. However, the birthfather had 60 days to come forward after the adoption/birth announcement was posted. Our social worker said the 60 days had past. WOW!! SMILES! We have one more post placement visit scheduled for the last week in September. After that visit we can finalize Elle's adoption here in Iowa anytime after October 14th.
