Ryan had his first band solo on Saturday. He has practiced so much and it showed. There were 12 students who played solos; all of the students, except Ryan, have played for 2 years. Ryan has played less than a year. Anyways, other than a highschoool student, Ryan sounded the best. We were shocked. We knew Ryan was talented, but you never really know how good until you can compare him to other students. After the concert, I mentioned to his teacher we couldn't believe how well he plays (compared to the other students, we kept this comment to ourselves). She simply shook her head and stated "that is exactly why he made honor band."
