Is it still considered day two even if you never slept at the end of day one?? Hummmmm. So to pick up were we left off.... we finally arrived in Georgia at 10:00am (9am CST). That was a long drive and neither of us slept more than two hours. We stopped at IHOP thinking we might get a bite to eat, while we were there, I called the agency to touch base and she told us we needed to be at the hospital by 11am to sign papers. So much for breakfast, we left and went straight to the hospital. 1130am the attorney walks in and we talked about what was going to happen. She had a few papers she wanted us to look over while she was working with the BM and hospital staff signing those papers. At this point, time stood still. What was only 45 minutes felt like hours. All the papers are sign and we have this sweet, beautiful little girl in our arms. We are not in the clear yet. Georgia's law states the BM has 10 days to change her mind and can request to parent the child. While we don't believe this will happen, it very well could. The hospital will be discharging her from the hospital tonight at 9pm, we will take her to her new, temporary, home... a hotel.
Update: It's 10pm and we are just getting settled in for the night at the hotel. It has been a great day! I'll stop talking cause I know you just want to see pictures.
